Amaya LoneBear was nominated as the Arapaho Charter High School student of the week by Azalea Hanway.
Amaya is an 11th grader, and the daughter of Brittany Spoonhunter. Her diligence and dedication to her studies is second to none, and she sports an average classroom percentage of 94.7% across her schedule for the semester so far. What’s more, she is a positive and encouraging classmate to her peers, and always has a ready smile for everyone. “Amaya shows so much dedication to all aspects of our school. Being able to watch her come out of her shell more this year has been inspiring! She’s one of our quiet leaders; she leads with her drive to be successful in all her classes and to show kindness to everyone. Her work ethic is very admirable and shows in everything she’s involved in,” says her nominating staff member. Her work ethic and positive attitude are an uplifting part of our school, and she always has a kind word for those around her.
Amaya is active in ACHS projects, including prom fundraising, Food Distribution, and occasional bake sales. She is a regular fixture on the ACHS Honor Rolls, and has previously been recognized as our Student of the Week. Outside of school Amaya loves to hangout with her family and recently has become and avid reader of fantasy fiction. She has also taken up beading and plans to sell her beadwork once she generates some of her own creations. After high school Amaya plans to attend college to become an Ultrasound Technician. Congratulations, Amaya!

Today in preschool we made "Stone Soup"! The preschoolers have been studying the book all week learning about setting, characters, problems and solutions. We were also introduced to new words in Hinono'eitiit. The biggest take away from the book was sharing is caring!

The Animal Adoption Center and our dedicated team of vets, vet techs, and volunteers from across the state, would greatly appreciate your help getting the word out about our upcoming free spay/neuter & vaccine clinics. We have an expanded staff and are striving to spay or neuter 300 tribal pets and vaccinate an additional 200!
Spay/Neuter & Vaccine Clinic: This clinic will be held at the Fort Washakie School December 5th-7th. Check-in begins at 8:30am all three days. As in year’s past, drop-off and pick-up will be done as a drive through. We will also require proof of tribal enrollment at check-in, so please let people know to bring their card. Check-in will be first come, first serve. All services will be provided to tribal members free of charge.
Vaccine Only Clinics: We are also working with Indian Health Services and dedicated vets to offer a vaccine clinic. This clinic will be held at the Tigee Center, December 6th & 7th from 10am-3pm.
